MDJ Creations Da Vinci

Hi guys! Today's post is going to be a short one. I didn't get the best pictures of this one so I only have one picture to show you. This is MDJ Creations Da Vinci. I bought this several months ago along with a few others but this is the one that drove me to make the purchase at all. Also, I can't believe I'm saying this, but, this is currently available!! I feel like I'm always posting about nail polish that is super old or limited edition but this is in the Etsy shop now, people. So, if you want it, you can get it!

It's described as a teal base with flakies and holo glitter. I'm not sure if you can see the holo glitter well but the flakies were mesmerizing. They are chrome flakies with a multitude of colors in their shift. I think I have two coats here, which may be why it looks a little lighter than the website swatch photo. It has a partner polish called Michelangelo which is flakies in a creamy lighter colored base. I did get that one as well and I'm looking forward to wearing it. I'm happy I ventured to buy from this maker. If I had the budget, I would be buying more. She looks like she has some very interesting polishes in her Etsy store.

Tonic Polish Lula

Hello everyone!

So, I have fallen hard into the indie polish rabbit hole lately. I've been into indie polish for a while but I recently joined a bunch of Facebook polish groups and a whole new world of indie polish has opened up! My latest obsession is Tonic Polish. For some reason, this woman's polishes speak to my soul. Well, mine and a lot of other people's as well since this brand seems to be extremely popular. I guess it really emerged in the last year or so and gained popularity quickly. When I finally came out from under my rock, I tried to catch up quickly.

One of the polishes I got in my recent haul is Lula. This is from the first Interlude collection and it's described as follows: "Lula is a purple polish with strong red shimmer and a sprinkling of silver holographic micro glitters."  That is a pretty accurate description, I'd say. The purple is a true purple, doesn't lean too much in the blue or red direction. Holographic micro glitters really make this polish special. They are scattered enough that you can pick them out individually and they twinkle like little lights in the polish!

This polish truly looked different in different lighting. I took a bunch of pictures from my phone in different spots because I was fascinated.

Fresh Paint Nebula with Laquerlicous Mocha Sprinkles

Hi folks!!

In my last post I showed you an indie polish by Polished by KPT. Today I have another indie polish that I had been eyeing for a while by Laquerlicious. This one is called Mocha Sprinkles. First of all, love the name. It is very evocative of all that is good about cold weather...basically warm, sweet drinks. I'm also a sucker for multi-colored glitter polishes so I was irresistibly drawn to it.

It's a dense glitter mix of metallic glitters in caramel, brown, pink, magenta and teal. There are a variety of sizes and shapes including round glitter. I did not have any trouble working with this polish. They were all well suspended in the base and spread evenly on the nail. I used one coat for this mani.

For the base, I used a polish that actually quite stunned me with how beautiful it is for how inexpensive it is. This is Fresh Paint Nebula, a brand found at Five Below stores. It had a blackened burgundy base with deep berry shimmer with particles large enough to be almost foil like. It made me very happy to wear it. This is only two coats. In certain lights, it had a brownish tone to it, which I thought made it very appropriate for Mocha Sprinkles.

Mani update with Lush Lacquer Clowning Around

So, you know how I told you guys I was feeling a little unfinished, a little unsatisfied with my mani yesterday. On a pure whim I decided to put on a coat of Lush Lacquer Clowning Around just because it happened to be staring at me sitting on my table last night. Instant love!! 

There are so many many indie glitter mixes out there now and I've been very picky about which ones to actually get. Mostly because if I let myself get suckered into the indie polish madness, I'd go broke very very fast. When I first saw pictures of this crazy polish, however, it really stood out and I had to have it. I'm so glad I did. I don't think I've seen anything else quite like it out there!

This polish is made up of multi-sized, multi-colored matte neon hexes that really pop over lighter colors. I'm totally in love with the way it looks over my current mani. I had no idea it would pop over the gold as well! The bottle is packed with so much glitter that it does not take much of an effort to get enough glitter on the nail. The pictures you see show one coat applied with a little bit of dabbing to encourage the glitters to lay in the proper spots for even coverage. This is about as sparse as I like it for these glitters.
