Savina Marine Life with loose glitter

Hi everyone!
Life is so so busy right now! I am still painting my nails but only about once a week. That's about as frequently as I can create a blog post as well. And that is with great effort! So, without much ado, here is Savina Marine Life. A very vibrant sea green color. In real life it is even more greenish that these pictures show it to be.

For the "art" part of it, I did some glitter placement with some iridescent hex glitter from TJ Maxx. It was part of a set of various colored glitter by Martha Stewart. Believe it or not, it had both larger hexes and fine loose glitter in almost the exact shade of green as Marine Life. Of course, I had to use them :-) This was my first time using loose glitter. I just painted the color, then a coat of clear and sprinkled and patted the loose glitter on the nail while it was still wet. Then, once dry, I brushed off any glitter that didn't stick. Removal wasn't too much of a pain either! It was so sparkly!

Savina Royalty gold skittlette

Hey everybody!
Look at that, it's another Monday. Who's excited? Yeah, not me either. Let me show you a mani I was pretty excited about though.

The base color I used in this mani is Savina Royalty. That's the green. The bottle I'm holding in the above picture is Salon Perfect Faux Glow. I believe this is a dupe for China Glaze Fast Track from the Hunger Games collection. I picked up and put that polish down so many times that I was super excited to see its dupe at Walmart!

The stamping for the gold flowers was done with China Glaze Passion and the image came from the Cheeky plate CH50. I only used part of the image and left a blank space on the nail. I also really love the use of dots here as tiny accents on the ring finger nail. I supposed you could put studs or stones here but since I don't think I can wear those at work, I went with just dots. I think it works.

A couple of sunlight pictures to give you an accurate idea of the color when viewed outside.

I am starting to really, really love greens like this. I think the mint green and gold combo is so pretty too. What do you think?

Sally Hansen Trouble Maker

Hi everybody!

I am in the state of California for the first time in my life and I like it! It sunny, warm but not hot, and actually not too humid. My skin loves the sun! It's been missing it for months now. I've got a few minutes before dinner so I thought I'd get this post up.

The major color in this is Sally Hansen CSM Trouble Maker. It's a nice dark plummy grape color without being so dark that it looks black. The formula was great. This is two coats. I love the paddle brush that comes with this line. The brush with the formula gives me a great line at the cuticle with very minimal clean up. It doesn't drag because of being too stiff.

The accent nail is done with Savina Dolphins. It's a brand I've found at Nordstrom Rack. It's a medium grey polish that dried to a rubbery matte finish. I've already topcoated it here but I need to wear it alone someday to see if I like that finish. The stamp came from Cheeky XL plate E.

This picture was taken after I took the accent nail off and repainted it in preparation for something else. You can see the scratches on the older paint! What did I do next? That's for the next post!

Savina Sparkling Water Vines

This is going to be a brief one. I decided I liked the Savina polish I used yesterday enough to keep it on and try something else with it. I took the 'staches off and added some vines from the Bundle Monster plate 225 and Wet n Wild black. I do like this look. The color of the blue is really nice and the holographic sparkle is pretty. Maybe I'm just in a better mood...?

Movember Monday Moustache Mani: Savina Sparkling Water

Hi folks. So, it's been sort of a less than stellar weekend and maybe that's coloring my perception but this post I'm going to show you feels like a less than stellar mani. I think the polish itself is probably not that bad, I'm just annoyed by it right now. I went with the same color theme of light blue and purple for this one but I was struck by a superb lack of creativity. The colors I used are Savina Sparkling Water and Color Club Rev'd Up.

Savina is a brand that can be found at Nordstrom Rack.  In the bottle it's a lovely light blue metallic with large holograhic glitter particles. It looks lovely. What fails to make this a truly wonderful polish is that on the nail, the glitter pieces end up forming this gritty, grainy texture that took three coats of top coat to feel somewhat smooth and no amount of top coat could take away the look of grittiness that you can see in the first picture. I'm not really a fan of that look. Thankfully, in certain lights, you can see the holographic shimmer quite well so there is a saving grace.

And now, this is a picture of the bottle of Jade jelly that I used in my last mani seen here. It's pretty sheer and a little milky. I had originally used Sally's clear, added some Love & Beauty Jade and a bit of glitter. The glitter proved to be ridiculously hard to pick up out of the bottle so now I just use it for the jelly-ness.

Sangria Stamped

So yesterday I posted a swatch of Savina Sangria. Today I'm going to show you the stamping did over it. This was done with a Sally Hansen Color Quick Fast Dry Pen in Fuschia Chrome. The image used is from the Mash m60 plate.

Savina Sangria

Peoples, I am very excited. Today, as I got ready to write this post, I discovered that overnight I passed 1000 pageviews! That means you all are actually coming to read this! Thank you :-)
